Hong Kong 2.755 km², since 1997 Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People Republic of China, a special administrative region of the Peoples Republic of China, located on Chinas south coast, bordering Guangdong in the North and the South China Sea in the east. Hong Kong is located on the confluence of the Pearl river to the South China Sea and reaches over a peninsula and about 260 appertaining islands. Concerning the populousness Hongkong is with about 7 millions of inhabitants the thirdlargest metropolitan area of the Peoples Republic of China.
